Injuries & the daily check-in

Flag an injury by body part; the coach scales run, bike and swim back specifically.

What you can do

At the top of This week is ☀️ How do you feel today? — today's subjective check:

Pick Slight ache, Pain or Injured and a 📍 Where? row opens: tap the body part (ankle, knee, calf, Achilles, hamstring, shin, foot, hip, back, shoulder, wrist, elbow, or other). This replaces the free-text notes you used to forget. While an injury is active, every completed session shows a 🩹 tag to log how it felt during that session: ✅ fine · 🟠 niggled · 🔴 sore.

How the coach uses it

An injury doesn't only hit your run. The coach maps the flagged body part through an impact matrix onto run, bike and swim separately: high → scale that discipline back hard + clear advice; moderate → lighter + a caution; low → a note only. Severity gates the scaling: an ache only advises (no volume out); pain or injury actually scales the load back (high ×0.6 · moderate ×0.85). An ankle hits the run hard, the bike moderately, the swim barely; a shoulder is the swim's problem, not the run's; the low back loads the aero bike position. For leg complaints the coach advises swimming with a pull buoy — legs still, so you keep swimming without loading the injury. The matrix is medically reviewed (doctor & triathlete).

FAQ

Why does the coach ask "where" the injury is?

So it can steer precisely. An ankle calls for something very different from a shoulder — with the body part the coach scales the right discipline back instead of locking down your whole week.

Does my injury count for cycling and swimming too?

Yes. Each body part has its own impact on run, bike and swim. You keep training what you can (e.g. swimming with a pull buoy for a leg injury) while the coach protects what hurts.

What's the difference between an ache and an injury?

An ache → the coach only advises (warm up, see if it settles), your load stays the same. Pain or injury → the coach actually scales the affected discipline(s) back.

What is the per-session 🩹 tag for?

To track how your injury behaves across sessions. Tap ✅/🟠/🔴 after a session — so you (and the coach) can see whether it's recovering or flaring. The tag only appears while an injury is active.

Does this replace a doctor?

No. The coach adjusts your training; for how long to hold off, a physio or doctor stays in charge.
